PRIME HUNTING AREAS AT RISK!
MOOSE – ELK – DEER – PRONGHORN – BISON
HB 294 is being rushed through the House allowing little time for discussion. This bill intends to develop critical wildlife habitat. Your immediate action is needed now more than ever! The hunting and wildlife viewing opportunities that could be lost if this bill passes are enormous.
Possibly the most iconic hunting parcels in the entire state!
With numerous parcels being solicited for development it is hard to fully grasp the impact this bill will have on our wildlife and the future of hunting. One thing is certain, the impacts will be negative for us all. The “Kelly” parcel included in this bill provides a wide diversity of hunting opportunities. This parcel is home to important migration corridors, winter range, and habitat for moose, pronghorn, grouse, mule deer, bison, elk and other diverse species.
Preserving core habitats like this one is critical for the future of our wildlife, our economy, and our recreational opportunities. According to a recently released study by the University of Wyoming wildlife watching based recreation generates over half a billion dollars in economic activities annually in Wyoming, and hunting alone generates nearly $259 million. There are numerous parcels being proposed for development and the impacts will likely affect each and every hunter in the state!
We need you to take a stand now and help us defeat this bill.
This bill has passed the House General File and Second Reading in the last 24 hours and will have a final House vote on the 6th of February. We must act fast.
